Maryland Spring Football Game: Back at Byrd!

It was great to be back in Byrd Stadium for the annual Maryland Red vs White Spring Football game. QB Danny O'Brien led the Red team to a 35-7 win. It was an entertaining game despite the Terps didn't really open their playbook for this game.

"The thing is, you've got to remember we didn't let them do anything," Head Coach Randy Edsall said. "We just basically played a couple of coverages and really one front the whole time. We had no movement on the defensive line."

O'Brien opened things with a 65 yard scoring pass to WR Ronnie Tyler on the game's first play and the White team never really recovered from that. The Red team ended the half up 28-0.

Despite the lopsided score at the end of the half, Edsall liked the intensity and the fact the team came out of the spring relatively injury free.

"I thought we had a pretty good day out there today," Edsall said. "Good things: we had no injuries when it came down to the Spring and relatively we're in very good shape from a health standpoint. I thought the guys really competed hard."

Here are the pictures I took before the game and during the first half. As always, click on the picture for a larger version. Unfortunately I had to leave at the half due to allergies and a headache that was so bad, three aspirin companies were bidding on it. Enjoy!!!
