I posted about the Shawne Merriman Coat Drive that took place before the Maryland - Florida State game. Our house did its part. We cleaned out our closets and contributed a couple bags worth of sweaters, gloves and other warm weather gear. My seven year old son Ben even contributed a couple of his coats he had outgrown. He felt proud to have done so and it was a nice lesson for him about helping others in need. While I don't know Shawne personally, I have read a lot about his dedication to helping youth, families in need and the homeless.

One of the best who ever put on a Maryland uniform, it's nice to see Terps like Shawne Merriman help folks in need.
